Dr. David Reed, DVM
J. DAVID REED has served as a director of Pet DRx since January
2008. Dr. Reed served as a director of XLNT Veterinary Care, Inc.
since October 2004 until its merger with the Company and served as
Secretary of XLNT from October 2004 until June 2007. Dr. Reed has
served as the Director of XLNT’s Hospital Operations for Northern
California since October 2004. From 1999 until October 2004, Dr.
Reed served as owner and medical director of Lawrence Pet Hospital
in Santa Clara, CA, which he opened in 1999. In 1998, Dr. Reed
purchased Bascom Animal Hospital. From 1992 until 1996, Dr. Reed
served as Medical Director of Pets’ Rx, including following VCA
Antechs’ purchase of Pets’ Rx in 1996, where he served as liaison
between the corporation and practitioners until 1998. In 1980, Dr.
Reed became a practice-owner when he took over a multi-doctor
practice in Los Gatos, CA, which was purchased by Pets’ Rx in 1992
At the same time, Dr. Reed served as president of the Santa Clara
County Veterinary Medical Association from January 1980 until
December 1980. Dr. Reed received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
from the University of Illinois in 1972.

Dr. Shari Johnson, DVM
Dr. Shari Johnson received highest honors for her bachelor’s degree
in wildlife biology from UC Santa Cruz in 1996, and went on to
graduate magna cum laude from Washington State University with her
DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree in 2003. Since
graduating, she has been an associate veterinarian in general
practice at Lawrence Pet Hospital. Dr. Johnson's professional
interests include internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine
of dogs, cats, rabbits, and rodents. She also has a special interest
in wildlife medicine and conservation where she has had the unique
opportunity to work with endangered sea turtles in the Florida Keys
and Mexico, sea otters in the Monterey Bay, and various predatory
bird species in Washington state. Eventually she plans to volunteer
her time again in this area.
Dr. Johnson is a member of the California Veterinary Medical
Association and American Veterinary Medical Association. She attends
conferences regularly as well as reads current publications in the
field to stay up to date with the latest research and techniques
available.
On a personal level, Dr. Johnson enjoys running, hiking, swimming,
and international travel. She especially enjoys spending time with
her family and her two dogs and cat in Santa Cruz where they all
reside. The most recent addition to her family is her beautiful son,
Cayden, who has become the center of focus in her life.

Dr. Jo'n Gera, DVM
Dr. Jo’n Gera graduated from St. George’s University School of
Veterinary Medicine on the island of Grenada, West Indies in January
2004. She completed three years of school on the island and a final
year of veterinary school at the University of Florida. Dr. Gera
always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian and enjoyed her
unique experiences that allowed her to achieve her goal.
Dr. Gera keeps herself busy outside of work by spending time with
her family of pets (hound dogs Ziggy & Rana, cockatiels Minnie &
Keyon, & Jack the fish) and her boyfriend. She also enjoys working
on crafts & hobbies (video games), BBQ’ing, and hopes to get back
into snow skiing and mountain biking. |

Mac McKelvey , Hospital Manager
Mac McKelvey received his A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology in
2000. He has been with Lawrence Pet Hospital since July 1999. In
2003, Mac took over as Office Manager for the practice. He continues
to work as a Veterinary Technician along with his management duties.
Outside of the hospital, Mac is involved with volunteering time to
local zoos and county programs for spay and neuter. He also attends
veterinary conferences each year to keep up with the newest medicine
for his practice. Outside of work, Mac enjoys basketball, cycling,
and time with his family. He has two pets, "Bumper," a fox terrier,
and "Halo," an orange tabby.
